Academics & Faculty

Magnificat has a 1:12 faculty to student ratio.

Magnificat has a 1:12
faculty to student ratio.

Our faculty at Magnificat does more than simply instruct the students. As professionals in their fields of study, they have the experience, depth of knowledge and enthusiasm to lead and inspire. Each teacher is committed to create a challenging and productive learning environment so that each girl grows and builds greater confidence in herself and her abilities. The faculty is involved in activities with students outside the classroom as well.

We strive as a Catholic educational community to challenge our students to mature in faith and in pursuit of knowledge and understanding.

Guiding Principles of the Curriculum

At Magnificat, each student is challenged
to mature in her pursuit of knowledge and understanding
in an environment that fosters spiritual growth and intellectual development.
Through increased knowledge students develop a deepened consciousness
of who they are and the importance of what they do for a world in need.

Magnificat’s curriculum is guided by the following principles:

  • To integrate effectively gospel values and Catholic social principles throughout all disciplines and courses.
  • To educate students holistically:  intellectually, spiritually, physically, emotionally, socially, and culturally.
  • To be relevant to the abilities, interests and needs of all students.
  • To develop the essential skills, knowledge and values needed by graduates as they transition to college and life.
  • To be rooted in women’s ways of knowing, emphasizing development of self, voice and mind using multiple modalities and approaches that promote reflection and honor relational and experiential learning.
  • To recognize and understand one’s role and responsibilities in the world community.
